Wolfgang studied Chemistry at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg where he achieved his bachelors and masters degree. His bachelor thesis dealt with the synthesis of electron-accepting polymers in the group of Dr. Tobias Schaub. After research internships with the Roşca, Tanaka, and Kivala groups he conducted his master thesis research in the group of Prof. Milan Kivala about the synthesis of nanographenes containing 5- and 7-membered rings. He joined the Dumele group in July 2024 for his PhD studies.
